VITALITY
A Living History
Vitality is not new. It’s ancient, primal, and endlessly evolving — much like the body itself. Long before we had nervous system scans or wellness trends, cultures around the world understood vitality as the subtle force that animates life — the unseen current that moves breath into lungs, sap into trees, tides onto shore.
In China, it was called Qi — the energy that flows through the body’s meridians, creating health when it moves freely, and illness when it stagnates. In India, Prana moved through the nadis and chakras — carried on breath, shaped by thought, expanded through awareness. Ancient Greece gave us Pneuma, the breath of spirit that fills the body and brings it to life. And in Indigenous traditions across the globe, vitality is woven into the land, the elements, and the cycles of nature — always accessible, always sacred.
Vitality is also the root of chiropractic. Its founders believed in Innate Intelligence — the idea that the body is self-healing, self-regulating, and wise beyond measure. Chiropractic was born from this same vitalistic philosophy — the idea that the body holds its own intelligence and can return to balance when interference is removed. That interference might be structural, emotional, energetic, or environmental — but when we support the nervous system, the body doesn’t need to be told what to do. It already knows.
In modern language, we might call vitality resilience, aliveness, or regulation. We measure it in heart rate variability, breath depth, or adaptability to stress. But no matter how it’s named or tracked, the truth remains: vitality is not just about “feeling better.” It’s about becoming more connected — to your body, your rhythms, your life.
At Aunu, we don’t treat symptoms in isolation. We look for the pause, the pattern, the place where vitality has been blocked — and we create space for it to return. Sometimes through chiropractic adjustment. Sometimes through cranial stillness. Sometimes through breath, presence, or simply witnessing what’s ready to shift.
A Way of Living
We don’t treat symptoms. We follow signals. We don’t push for outcomes. We listen for flow.
This is a care model based on rhythm, relationship, and trust in the body’s wisdom. Vitality shows up when the interference is gone — not just in the spine, but in your patterns, breath, and pace of life. Whether we’re adjusting your spine, holding cranial tension, or simply witnessing your nervous system unwind, we’re working with your vitality. Not forcing it — facilitating its return.
Your nervous system is the master control system of your entire body — it directs how you think, feel, move, and heal. When stress (physical, emotional, or chemical) builds up, it can create interference in that system. That’s when we start to feel disconnected, dysregulated, or stuck in survival mode.
Chiropractic adjustments gently release that interference, restoring communication between your brain and body. This helps shift you from a stressed, reactive state into a regulated, healing one — known as parasympathetic activation, or the “rest and digest” state. When your nervous system is regulated, your body becomes more adaptable, your immune system strengthens, and you feel more you. This is the foundation for true, lasting vitality.

THE ART OF CHIROPRACTIC
There’s more than one way to adjust.
Chiropractic is a vast field — drawing from a wide range of techniques to meet your body where it is. Each method works differently with the nervous system, structure, and energy of the body. Each technique is chosen with care — based on your body’s needs and your nervous system’s response.
At Aunu, we use a combination of gentle, intentional methods that work with your body — not against it. Each session may include one or more of these techniques, based on your vitality assessment and how your system is presenting that day.
We always work with your body, never forcing change — just inviting flow.

CRANIALS
Subtle shifts through the skul that create deep regulation.
Cranial techniques use light touch to release tension and patterns in the bones of the head and sacrum. This supports:
Nervous system unwinding
TMJ dysfunction
Headaches + migraines
Emotional processing + trauma release
Sleep, digestion, and overall ease
Cranial care is especially powerful when you feel overwhelmed, overstimulated, or shut down.
CHIROPRACTIC
Restoring communication between the brain and body.
Adjustments help release tension and interference in the spine and nervous system. We use low-force, neurologically focused techniques to support:
Improved nervous system regulation
Greater range of motion + flexibility
Decreased tension and pain
Increased adaptability to stress
Every adjustment is specific — guided by assessment, intuition, and your body’s readiness.
CUPPING
Clearing blocked pathways to support energy and circulation.
Cupping uses gentle suction to improve circulation, release muscular tension, and support the body's detox processes.
Reduce stagnation and pain
Improve tissue healing
Relieve chronic tightness
Support lymphatic flow + immune resilience
It’s a great complement to chiropractic and cranial care — especially when your body is holding onto physical stress or emotional load.
Want to Know More?
What is Chiropractic, really?
Chiropractic care focuses on the nervous system — the master control system of your body. By gently adjusting the spine and other key areas, we restore communication between the brain and body so that healing, regulation, and vitality can return.
Do you “crack” the spine?
Not always. Not every adjustment creates an audible sound (what people call “cracking”), and not every body needs forceful techniques. At Aunu, we use low-force, nervous system-based methods that are gentle, precise, and deeply effective — often without any popping or twisting. Unless that is the session you book.
Do I need to come regularly to benefit from care?
Not always — but rhythm matters. Consistency doesn’t mean showing up every week forever. It means staying in relationship with your body. When you receive care regularly — especially in the beginning — your nervous system learns a new pattern of ease. Your system begins to trust that it can let go, recalibrate, and return to center without waiting for pain to speak up first. Receiving consistent care helps your nervous system learn a new pattern of ease. Whether that’s through a pathway, seasonal visits, or Flow Days, we’ll support a rhythm that works for you.
How long does it take to feel results?
Every body is different. Some people feel a change after one visit; for others, it builds over time. We focus on function and adaptability — not just symptom relief. True healing happens in layers, and we’ll support you through each one.
Is this care just for people in pain?
Not at all. We work with stress, nervous system overwhelm, postural shifts, emotional integration, and the desire to feel more connected to your body. Pain may bring you in — but presence is what keeps you growing.
What does a session look like?
Every session is different. We meet your body where it is. You might receive chiropractic adjustments, cranial unwinding, cupping, breathwork, or soft touch — always guided by your system’s needs in the moment.

What do you mean by “nervous system regulation”?
Your nervous system controls how you respond to life — how you sleep, digest, move, feel, and heal. When it’s dysregulated, you might feel stuck, reactive, or disconnected. Our care helps shift you out of survival mode and into a state of regulation — where your body can rest, repair, and thrive.
Will it hurt?
Our techniques are designed to work with your body, not against it. Some people feel immediate relief, while others feel shifts unfold gradually. You may feel sensations like warmth, spaciousness, or release as your system rebalances.
Do you work with children and teens?
Yes — gently and intentionally.
We offer care for infants, kids, and teens in a way that supports their unique stages of growth. Short sessions, soft touch, and space to unwind or reset.
Can I come in for just one session?
Yes. You're welcome to book a single session anytime — no pressure to commit. That said, the body often responds best in rhythm. We'll guide you toward a path that honors your goals, whether that’s one session or many.
